What we don't do
To the many people the structure of local government can be quite bewildering. In an ideal world public services would be provided by one organisation. However, the reality is much more complicated.
We are a city council and we provide a range of services for people who live and work in Exeter and those visiting the area.
Devon County Council is responsible for providing the services below.
Adult social services
Adopted roads and highways
Blue badge for disabled parking
Children social services
Concessionary bus fares scheme (The National Bus Pass)
