14. Donating a tree

Planting of donated or memorial trees

We provide a scheme for the planting of donated or memorial trees which are placed throughout the city’s parks and green spaces. Tree planting is carried out between October and January.

The cost of planting a tree is approximately £500, the price will vary to some degree depending on size and species. The cost includes planting and aftercare for the first two years of establishment. If you would like to donate a smaller amount to the tree planting budget please contact us for further information.

Due to the limited space and the competing demands on Exeter’s open spaces there is a need for a planned and fair approach. In order to ensure that the planting is done in a way that is sustainable and in keeping with the our vision for the city, the location of planting and species choice will need to be approved by our tree team.

We will try our best to accommodate your wishes but to avoid disappointment you need to understand that as managers of the city's green spaces we will have final say on the most suitable location for planting and species choice.
