2. Apply for a pavement café licence
Before applying for a pavement café licence you will need to download this notice (also available as a pdf) and affix it to the outside of your premises. You must do this on the same day that you submit your application. You will need to take a photo of the notice on display.
In order to complete the online application you will need to have the following documents available:
- A clear site plan indicating proposed area of street café
- A clear layout diagram showing exact positions and numbers of tables and chairs
- Pictures/brochures of proposed furniture
- A clear photograph of the site notice affixed to the premises
- A copy of your current public liability insurance for a minimum value of £5million specifically covering tables and chairs on the highway

You'll need the following:

- A payment method for the (non returnable) £100 fee
- Your premises address details
You will need to display the application notice for five working days.
Within that period we will determine whether the Licence will be granted and notify you of our decision.
