Park and ride services. Bus operatorsExeter is well served by buses. Please note that they are not run by the Council but by private companies, the predominant operator being Stagecoach. Their details and those of other operators appear below. City buses provide a comprehensive network of buses within the urban area of Exeter, running via the High Street, and are characterised by letters e.g. A to Alphington. Out of town services to neighbouring towns, villages and the countryside operate from the bus and coach station (Postcode is EX1 2JX). Park and ride services operate to the City Centre, R D & E Hospital and County Hall. Bus timetables and mapsThe best place to start is the Exeter interactive bus map for journeys within Exeter, or the Devon interactive bus map if you want to travel between Exeter and somewhere else in Devon. Zoom in to show the routes in the area you are looking at, and click on the route number or letter to get timetable information. Devon County Council also produces a comprehensive route map and guide for each of the rural District Council areas and for Devon as a whole. These can be obtained online from Devon County Council - bus maps and guides, or in person from Exeter Visitor Information and Tickets, Dix's Field, Exeter, EX1 1GF or the Travel Shop at the Bus and Coach Station, Paris Street, Exeter, EX1 2JX. Alternatively, timetable information can be obtained online, by phone or by text, through Traveline South West. You can even text the number and details shown at individual bus stops to get the times of the next three buses.
