Developing the Arts in Exeter

Arts development in the city includes community arts projects, educational workshop programmes, classes and audience development projects led by the City's key arts organisations: Spacex, Exeter Phoenix, Exeter Northcott Theatre,  Exeter Barnfield Theatre, the Bike Shed Theatre, Sound Gallery and Double Elephant Print Workshop.

Exeter City Council supports arts development through the organisations it grant aids directly, through the funding it gives to Exeter Arts Council, who administer a small grants fund to support arts projects in the city and also through its support for initiatives such as Animated Exeter, Exeter Respect Festival and Vibraphonic.

Many other arts organisations and projects take place, initiated and led by a range of different partners and public sector agencies.
