Information about the Geography of Deprivation in Exeter, including 2007 Indices of Multiple Deprivation data.

The distribution of residents in Exeter affected by deprivation is assessed at two geographic levels- at the level of Exeter's 18 wards and at a sub-ward level, a lower level consisting of 73 Super Output Areas (SOAs), each consisting of around 600 households.

pdf icon IMD 2007 [1Mb]- A summary based on the Indices of Multiple Deprivation 2007, scoring the deprivation levels of Exeter's 73 SOAs and assigning them with an overall ranking from most to least deprived with maps showing pockets of deprivation.  Although some of Exeter's SOAs may not fall within the worst 25% nationally, consideration has been given to analyse a 'top 20' of the worst affected SOAs.
