Full colour guides for an exciting Devon-wide art event are now available. The Nine Days of Art guides can be obtained from local libraries, tourist information centres and other venues across the county. The guides give details of over 320 artists who are opening their doors to the public in September to provide a unique chance to meet them at work in their own homes, studios and unusual exhibition spaces.
Nine Days of Art is a county wide, open studios event, taking place from 10-18 September in West and South Devon and from 17-25 September in East, Mid and North Devon and Exeter. Discerning art lovers can uncover some of Devon's best-kept artistic secrets at one of the county's largest open studios events.
As well as seeing beautiful and diverse countryside, historic towns and Exeter city, people can admire hand made jewellery, textiles and ceramics, in addition to a wealth of fine art painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture, and meet and buy from the artists and makers themselves. New and emerging names are exhibiting alongside internationally established artists and of whom will be welcoming the public into their homes, studios, galleries, village halls, hotels, country houses and many other beautiful locations. This event gives artists an opportunity to introduce, exhibit and sell their work to a wider audience.
The City Council is also promoting an exhibition of artworks from each participating Exeter artist at Haven Banks, Havens Road, Exeter. The exhibition runs from 17-25 September. For opening hours and individual artists' venues, see the guide, also available to download at www.ninedaysofART.co.uk
