Core Strategy Examination

The Core Strategy was examined over three days on 21-23 June 2011 and at a further hearing held on Wednesday 24 August 2011. Planning Inspector Jill Kingaby BSc (Econ) MSc MRTPI was appointed to conduct the examination in order to determine whether the strategy was 'sound.' On the 22 November 2011, the Council received the Inspector's Final Report which found the plan to be 'sound', subject to a small number of changes which are binding on the Council.

Copies of the inspector's report can be seen, by requesting it from City Development (contact details to the right of this page), whilst at the Council's Customer Services Centre, Civic Centre, Paris Street, Exeter and can be downloaded below.

The Council formally adopted the Core Strategy Development Plan Document (DPD) at a meeting of the Full Council on 21 February 2012. For the Adopted Core Strategy see Core Strategy Development Plan Document (DPD)

Public Hearings

These 'further proposed changes' were the subject of a further round of consultation from 9 September to 7 October 2011. For more information see Core Strategy Proposed Changes.
