Walking in Exeter

There are good reasons to walk in Exeter:-

Self Guided tours are a good way to enjoy an interesting walk

• Getting from A to B - Exeter is a compact city, and walking is an efficient (and free!) means of getting around.
• It's enjoyable - far from being purely urban, the city of Exeter has a large number of green spaces.
• It's good for you - whatever your reasons for walking, it has the added bonus of giving you some exercise and being good for your health.

Self-guided walks

The following will help you plan your own walks around Exeter:-

• The  Exeter Walking Map [2Mb] gives an overview of all the paths and how easily accessible they are. See also  Exeter Walking Map - City Centre and notes [971kb].
• The Exeter Green Circle runs around the city, linking many of the green spaces. You can walk it for pleasure, either the whole route or part of it. Or you can use the individual paths to get from one part of town to another.
