Exeter Employment Land Review (2009)

Exeter City Council has undertaken an employment land review (ELR) to provide an evidence base that will be used to inform the preparation of employment land policies and allocations in the Local Development Framework (LDF).

The ELR is needed to support efforts by the Council, through the planning system, to ensure that sites and buildings that are important to the future prosperity of the City are retained in employment use and to enable the release of sites that could sensibly be used for other purposes.

The review has been produced in accordance with the Government's Guidance Note: Employment Land Reviews (December 2004). It has been prepared with the assistance of a consultation group drawn from the local business community and from the South West Regional Development Agency (RDA), and has taken into account the views expressed by stakeholders through consultation.
