Exeter family forum

The Exeter Family Forum is the group responsible for looking at effective solutions to preventing homelessness for single parents and expectant mothers needing supported accommodation.

The Panel will oversee referrals, primarily for Single Parents and expectant mothers, and will recommend which supported accommodation projects are most likely to meet their needs, promote their quality of life, well being and independence, and manage any associated risks effectively.

The following agencies can refer into The Exeter Family Forum:- Exeter City Council, Children's and Young Persons Service (CYPS), Social Services, Health visitors and Midwives, Teenage Pregnancy Co-Ordinator, Domestic Violence Officers, Supported Accommodation Providers, Connexions, Other External Agencies (Please check first before referring). STRICTLY NO SELF REFERRALS

It is important that you refer a client to the Exeter Family Forum as soon as possible (due to limited vacancies clients may have to wait on a waiting list). All referrals must be completed in full with an up-to date risk assessment. Any referral part-completed with no relevant risk assessment will be returned to sender.

Update October 2013:

There is unlikely to be any upcoming vacancies in Grapevine or Friars Lodge until well into the New Year (2014). If you have clients who are homeless or are threatened with homelessness then please contact our Housing Options Team prior to referring to the EFF.
