All households in Exeter can recycle a wide range of materials from home. Collections take place from every home once a fortnight.

Putting out your containers

To help keep Exeter tidy, it is important that you are able to store your containers on your property between collections. We ask that you put out your recycling no earlier than 6.00 pm the evening before collection, and no later than 6.00 am on collection days. Our Find out when your bin is collected page will let you know when your next collection is and allow you to download your calendar.

On collection days, please leave your container on the boundary outside the front of your property so that it is clearly visible from the road when the crew passes to collect it. We will not be able to return for recycling that is not put out in this way.

Public holidays

Our Find out when your bin is collected page is automatically updated to include changes to collection schedules following public holidays.

Assisted waste collections

If you are not able to take your recycling to the boundary of your property on collection days, you can apply for Assisted waste collections, provided you meet certain criteria.
