Recycling bags and bins

The Council has a range of recycling containers that residents can order depending on the suitability of their property for storing various containers.

The Council will provide suitable recycling storage containers for all properties in Exeter.  The type of container that will be supplied will depend how and where the container is stored on a property between recycling collection days.

The following recycling containers are available:

• Clear sacks - suitable for homes with no storage for a wheelie bin or box.
• Boxes - suitable for homes with no storage for a wheelie bin.
• Small wheelie bin (140 litre) - suitable for up to 3 residents who have storage space for a bin.
• Large wheelie bin (240 litre) - suitable for 4 or more residents who have storage space for a bin.

You can Request a replacement/extra bin, or to return an unwanted container call 01392 665010. 

From time to time you may have additional recycling. Please put it in a sack, tie the sack securely, and label the sack with the first line of your address and the word 'recycling', and present it at your normal collection point.

Communal bin store collections

Freeholders and landlords are responsible for ensuring residents that live in properties that have communal facilities, have access to bin stores.  If you do not have access to communal bins, please contact your freeholder or landlord who should discuss requirements with the Council.  The Council will supply suitable bins for communal bin stores.
