2. Emergency repairs

An emergency repair is one that is needed to make your property safe and secure such as:

  • major pipe leaks or burst pipes
  • choked drains (not blocked gullies)
  • tap running full bore
  • no central heating between 31 October and 1 May
  • no hot water
  • toilet blocked or overflowing
  • faulty external door locks (where property not secure)
  • making the property secure
  • no power
  • making safe dangerous electrical fittings

If you smell gas or suspect that you might have a gas leak:

  • turn off gas supply at meter
  • open all doors and windows
  • do not smoke and extinguish any naked flames
  • do not switch on any electrical appliances (including the door entry system to flats) or use a mobile phone
  • contact Transco on 0800 111 999
