Post Office girobank/Paypoint

You can pay your rent free of charge at any Post Office and at certain shops that advertise Paypoint:

All you need to do is take your rent swipe card into any Post Office or Paypoint outlet with your payment.

To use this service you will need a small plastic swipe card.  If you haven't received a rent swipe card, these can be obtained by contacting your income management officer.

By telephone

If you hold a debit or credit card you can pay over the phone. Just call 0300 456 0636 and quote your rent reference number. This is the 12 digit number found in the bottom right corner of your payment card.  Please remember that if you pay by credit card, your card issuer is likely to charge you interest.

Salary/wage deduction

Our employees can have their rent deducted direct from their salary/wage.  If you wish to take this option please telephone 01392 265895 or contact your income management office.

By post

Cheques or postal orders should be sent to:

Cashiers Section,

Room 2.34c,

Exeter City Council,

Civic Centre,

Exeter EX1 1JN

Please quote your 12 digit rent reference number on the back.  Please do not send cash through the post.

Please remember

Your rent is due fortnightly. However, should you wish to pay on a calendar monthly basis then you need to make 12 equal payments throughout the year.  This applies December and March which have rent free fortnights. Please make sure you are paying during the month it is intended for.
