1. Paying your Business Rates
We collect non-domestic rates (NNDR) on behalf of the government which sets a "rate in the pound" annually with increases being no greater than the rate of inflation.

You need your debit or credit card and your business rates account reference number.
We will notify you of receipt of payment once received.
Direct debit
Direct debit is the best way to pay. Simple, quick and safe. Just give us the details once, and we'll do the rest. So no need to remember to pay. Spread your payments over a year, ten months, or pay all at once or in two payments.

Make cheques payable to Exeter City Council. Write your name, address and business rates account reference number on the back. We don't accept cheques dated in the future. Send your cheque to:
